🏔️ History
Founded in 1962, Fernie Alpine Resort is set in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. It is historically famous for its unique microclimate that traps Pacific storms, producing massive amounts of deep, light powder. The resort is renowned for its five legendary bowls (Lizard, Cedar, Currie, Siberia, and Timber) that offer exceptional freeride and tree skiing.

Holiday weekends and school break weeks, when the resort experiences high volume from Calgary day-trippers. Warm, rainy days can quickly degrade snow quality at the lower mountain base.

🚗 Crowsnest Highway access: The resort is located on the Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3). From Calgary, drive South on Highway 2 and West on Highway 3. The drive through the Crowsnest Pass is prone to severe wind gusts and black ice; winter tires are required.
