About the resort

🏔️ History
Opened in 2007 at the San Isidro pass in Asturias, Fuentes de Invierno is one of Spain's youngest ski resorts. Created to boost winter tourism in the Cantabrian Mountains, this compact resort features modern lifts and is beautifully integrated into the rugged Asturian landscape.

☀️ Best days
Clear weekdays immediately following a northern storm. The resort retains snow remarkably well at mid-elevations and offers spectacular views of the lush Cantabrian valleys, especially when a sea of clouds settles below.

🚫 Days to avoid
Sunny weekends during peak season. Its limited number of lifts, combined with sharing a single access road with the neighboring San Isidro resort, leads to severe traffic jams and long queues at the ticket office.

💡 Community tip
If possible, combine your trip with the adjacent San Isidro resort (in León) for more skiable terrain, though be aware that joint lift passes are not always available. The "La Hoya" sector is ideal for intermediate skiers looking to improve their technique. After a day on the slopes, indulge in hearty, traditional Asturian cuisine in the nearby villages.
