About the resort

🏔️ History
Kope is the central ski hub of the Koroška (Carinthia) region, positioned on the western ridges of the Pohorje massif. It has undergone a major transformation recently, installing high-speed lifts and rebuilding the iconic Grmovškov dom lodge in 2023, making it a vibrant destination year-round.

☀️ Best days
Crisp winter afternoons heading into the evening. Kope features one of Slovenia's largest and most famous night skiing setups, attracting locals straight from work. Pistes like Kopnik and Peharnik offer rolling, fun terrain cut through serene spruce forests.

🚫 Days to avoid
Mild, damp winter days. As with the rest of the Pohorje range, its lower altitude makes the snow sensitive to warm rain spells. Avoid peak weekends when regional events take place, which crowd the main lifts and base areas.

💡 Community tip
Stay at the newly rebuilt Grmovškov dom for a true ski-in/ski-out experience. Dine at the Gorski Raj restaurant, known for its superb farm-to-table dishes and dry-aged steaks, and check out the Holcer Pub for one of Slovenia's most famous mountain après-ski parties.
