About the resort

🏔️ History
Unlike purpose-built resorts, Les Angles is an authentic mountain village dating back to 966, with a rich Catalan agricultural and forestry heritage. In 1964, facing population decline, it opened as a ski resort, successfully balancing modern skiing infrastructure with traditional charm.

☀️ Best days
Any weekday in January or March (outside school holidays). The orientation of its slopes and extensive snowmaking network ensure excellent conditions even when temperatures fluctuate.

🚫 Days to avoid
Weekends and the French school holiday weeks in February. Parking areas and the main gondola from the village can experience significant bottlenecks.

💡 Community tip
This is a superb value, family-friendly resort, particularly great for beginners (Village and Pla del Mir sectors). If you want a break from skiing, the local Parc Animalier (wildlife park in the snow) and nearby thermal baths are absolute must-visits.

🚗 Access by road: To reach Les Angles by car, follow the main highways leading from the closest gateway (Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell Airport). The final mountain ascent is well maintained, but expect sharp hairpins and typical mountain gradients of France.

⚠️ Snow chains: During the winter months, carrying snow chains in your vehicle or fitting certified winter tires is a legal requirement on the roads of France.

Local Tips

💡 Local tip: Try to arrive before 8:30 AM on powder Saturdays to avoid traffic queues on the final valley roads and secure a parking spot closest to the primary lifts.
