About the resort
🏔️ History
Conceived in the 1920s as a massive project to rival Austrian and Swiss resorts, Les Trois Vallées (The Three Valleys) grew into the world's largest interconnected ski area. It links world-famous resorts like Courchevel, Méribel, and Val Thorens, offering over 600km of seamless skiing.
☀️ Best days
Any week in January or mid-March. While it’s rarely "empty," these periods offer fantastic flow and flawless snow conditions, especially high up in Val Thorens (Europe's highest resort).
🚫 Days to avoid
The peak weeks of February, when accommodation prices skyrocket and queues at the vital valley-linking lifts hit their absolute maximum.
💡 Community tip
Choose your base wisely: Courchevel for luxury and pristine grooming, Méribel for central access, chalet charm and a British vibe, or Val Thorens for guaranteed snow and wild après-ski. If you are an intermediate or advanced skier, the full Three Valleys pass is worth every penny.
