About the resort
🏔️ History
Mont Tremblant was founded in 1939 by Joe Ryan, a wealthy American explorer who climbed the peak and fell in love with its winter potential. As one of North America's oldest ski areas, it was completely revitalized in the 1990s following the Canadian pedestrian village model, blending historic Quebec architecture with modern resort amenities.
☀️ Best days
Mid-week days in January and February are best for quiet slopes. Cold, sunny late-winter mornings offer exceptional corduroy grooming on the North Side (Versant Nord).
🚫 Days to avoid
Saturdays and Sundays in peak winter months, when skiers from Montreal and Ottawa arrive. Extreme Arctic cold snaps require frequent warm-up breaks in the mid-mountain lodges.
💡 Community tip
If the South Side gets crowded, head over to the North Side (Versant Nord) or the Edge sector, where lift lines are generally shorter and the snow stays colder. Book a fondue dinner at La Savoie in the village for a classic experience.

YTM🚗 Autoroute 15 Access: From Montreal, drive north on Autoroute 15 Nord directly into the Laurentian Mountains. The highway transitions into Route 117 North. It is a well-maintained dual-lane route, but peak weekend commuter traffic can cause major delays.
Local Tips
💡 Use Parking Lot P2: Parking at the P2 lot provides the best balance of convenience and savings, allowing you to ride the free Cabriolet lift up to the main pedestrian plaza without paying for parking.
