About the resort

🏔️ History
Opened in 1986, Port Ainé is located in the municipality of Rialp, beneath the spectacular Pic de l'Orri (2,440 m) within the High Pyrenees Natural Park. It stands out for being designed with the family skier in mind, largely thanks to the Hotel Port Ainé 2000, which was pioneering at the time as the highest ski-in/ski-out accommodation in Catalonia.

☀️ Best days
Any sunny winter day. The resort is famous for its favorable "microclimate." The majority of its slopes face north, allowing skiers to enjoy excellent powder snow quality, even during weeks without recent snowfall.

🚫 Days to avoid
Mid-winter Sundays when conditions are optimal. Since it is a medium-sized resort highly focused on families, the main parking lot at elevation 2000 can fill up very quickly, causing traffic jams on the access road.

💡 Community tip
Take advantage of the Bellavista slope: a continuous green run almost 3 kilometers long that allows beginners to ski from the top of Pic de l'Orri all the way down to the 2000 m base. After your ski day, the proximity to the town of Sort offers a great chance to explore the area's famous adventure sports or try your luck buying lottery tickets at "La Bruixa d'Or."
