Rogla

🏔️ History
Opened in 1975 atop the Pohorje massif, Rogla (1,517m) serves as an Olympic sports training center. It is famous for its unique synergy with the Terme Zreče thermal spa in the valley below, allowing guests to combine snowy alpine runs with hot mineral pools. Over the years, it has evolved from a local ski hill into a major year-round recreational center.

☀️ Best days
Crisp, sunny winter days. Surrounded by dense spruce forests, the resort offers a scenic, northern-European feel. The Jurgovo sector is the best place to find steeper, faster runs with excellent snow quality that holds up well against the sun.

🚫 Days to avoid
Blizzards or high-wind days, which make the steep mountain access road hazardous and can shut down the upper lifts. Avoid busy holiday weekends when family ski schools fill the main slopes and create bottlenecks at the lower drag lifts.

💡 Community tip
Remember that Rogla is a "top-down" resort—you park and start your day at the **summit** rather than the base. Check out the spectacular Pohorje Treetop Walkway for a break from skiing, and enjoy a traditional meal at the historic Koča na Pesku.
