About the resort
🏔️ History
Unlike its famous purpose-built neighbors, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville is an authentic Savoyard village with centuries of history. It connected to the Les 3 Vallées network in the 1980s, offering a traditional, charming gateway into the world's largest ski area without sacrificing its deeply rural identity.
☀️ Best days
Mid-January. Sitting at a lower altitude than Val Thorens (the village is at 1,450m), the depths of winter provide the best snow cover right down to the base, allowing you to fully enjoy its beautiful tree-lined runs.
🚫 Days to avoid
Warm weeks in late April. The home runs descending to the village are sun-exposed, meaning the snow can become very heavy and slushy quickly towards the end of the season.
💡 Community tip
This is the ultimate haven for "gourmets." Stay here if you want tranquility and fine dining; the village boasts several acclaimed restaurants (including the Michelin-starred "La Bouitte"). Furthermore, the red run "Jérusalem", which winds its way down towards the village, is widely considered one of the most perfectly rolling and enjoyable pistes in the entire Alps.
