About the resort
🏔️ History
Ski Arlberg is the cradle of modern alpine skiing. The Arlberg Ski Club was founded here in 1901, and in the 1920s Hannes Schneider invented the modern ski technique. Following the final lift link (Flexenbahn) in 2016, it united world-famous villages like St. Anton, Lech, and Zürs into Austria's largest interconnected ski domain.
☀️ Best days
The second half of January. After the holiday rush, this colossal area offers exceptional powder conditions and a far less hectic vibe.
🚫 Days to avoid
European holiday peaks (Christmas and the February "Fasching"/Carnival week), when prices are astronomical and bottlenecks at central lifts are unavoidable.
💡 Community tip
St. Anton is the undisputed king of wild après-ski and challenging terrain, whereas Lech and Zürs offer relaxed luxury and immaculate intermediate cruisers. Challenge yourself with the "Run of Fame" an 85km ski circuit spanning the entire Arlberg domain. Note: The off-piste here is legendary but strongly requires a guide for safety.

Local Tips
💡 Local tip: Try to arrive before 8:30 AM on powder Saturdays to avoid traffic queues on the final valley roads and secure a parking spot closest to the primary lifts.
