About the resort

🏔️ History
St. Moritz is the birthplace of winter tourism (1864) and has hosted two Winter Olympics. Its primary ski sector, Corviglia, is accessible directly from the town and seamlessly blends historic glamour with impeccably groomed pistes under the brilliant Engadin sun.

☀️ Best days
Any sunny day in February. The region famously boasts 322 days of sunshine a year (the "champagne climate"), and its high base altitude (1,856m) ensures the snow remains crisp and dry even in direct sunlight.

🚫 Days to avoid
The weeks hosting the Snow Polo World Cup or the "White Turf" horse races on the frozen lake. The town becomes overwhelmed with ultra-luxury visitors, and the already high prices become truly astronomical.

💡 Community tip
Corviglia is all about "cruising" on wide, perfectly manicured pistes—an absolute paradise for carving enthusiasts. Catch the early funicular to experience the "White Carpet" (first tracks on freshly groomed corduroy). For lunch, if your budget allows, the mountain restaurants here are some of the most exquisite (and expensive) in the world.

🚗 Access by road: To reach St. Moritz – Corviglia by car, follow the main highways leading from the closest gateway (Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport). The final mountain ascent is well maintained, but expect sharp hairpins and typical mountain gradients of Switzerland.

⚠️ Snow chains: During the winter months, carrying snow chains in your vehicle or fitting certified winter tires is a legal requirement on the roads of Switzerland.

Local Tips

💡 Local tip: Try to arrive before 8:30 AM on powder Saturdays to avoid traffic queues on the final valley roads and secure a parking spot closest to the primary lifts.
