Vallnord - Pal Arinsal

🏔️ History
Located in Andorra, Pal-Arinsal was born from the union of two very different resorts: Pal (opened in 1982), famous for its gentle, tree-lined family slopes, and Arinsal (1973), situated in a steeper, more alpine valley. In the early 2000s, the two were linked by a cable car, creating a highly varied ski area that remains one of the most popular destinations in the Pyrenees.

☀️ Best days
Sunny days in late January or early February. The Pal sector, with its beautiful pine forests, is arguably the best place in the Pyrenees to ski when it's windy, as the trees provide natural shelter and help keep the snow perfectly preserved.

🚫 Days to avoid
British and Irish school half-term holidays (mid-February). Arinsal is a massively popular destination for the UK market, and during these weeks, the beginner areas and main access gondolas experience enormous queues.

💡 Community tip
The resort has two distinct "personalities." If you have children or prefer relaxed, scenic skiing among trees, the Pal sector is unmatched in Andorra. If you want steeper, wider runs and a lively, predominantly English-speaking après-ski scene, head over to Arinsal. Remember that the two sides are not linked by pistes—you must take the connecting cable car, which can get busy at peak times.
